B I O G R A F I A Maria ”Mimmu” Autio on Helsingissä toimiva tanssitaiteilija. Hänellä on juuret sekä Keski-Suomessa että Pohjanmaalla. Maria on valmistunut tanssitaiteen maisteriksi Taideyliopiston Teatterikorkeakoulusta keväällä 2015, mistä lähtien hän on työskennellyt monipuolisesti tanssitaiteen kentällä. Marian rikkaassa liikekielessä voi nähdä ja tuntea kaikuja hänen monipuolisesta tanssihistoriastaan muun muassa taitoluistelun, katutanssilajien sekä show- ja jazztanssin parissa. Myös release- ja lattiatekniikka ovat hänen tanssissaan läsnä. Lisäksi hänellä on kokemusta kontakti-improvisaatiosta sekä partneroinnista. Marian työskentelylle ominaisia piirteitä ovat keveys, leikkisyys, heittäytyminen, avoimuus ja kokeilunhaluisuus. Maria on esiintynyt muun muassa Tero Saarisen, Riku Lehtopolun, Petri Kekonin sekä Päivi Auran teoksissa ympäri Suomea ja Eurooppaa. Maria on yksi /\/\ /\/\ /\/\-kollektiivin perustajajäsenistä, joka on kolmen tanssitaiteilijan dynaaminen, raikas ja kupliva kollektiivi. Ryhmä tuottaa tanssijalähtöisiä teoksia, joista viimeisin teos Game Changer sai ensi-iltansa Kuopion ITAK-näyttämöllä 5.10.2022. Eri koreografien teosten ja omien taiteellisten projektien lisäksi Maria on toiminut tanssijana lyhytelokuvissa ja musiikkivideoissa. Tanssijan töiden ohella Maria opettaa nykytanssia ammattilaisille sekä harrastajille. Hän on myös apulaisrehtori Vapaalla Tanssikoululla Helsingissä. |
B I O G R A P H Y Maria "Mimmu" Autio is a dance artist based in Helsinki. She has roots in both Central Finland and Ostrobothnia. Maria graduated with a master's degree in dance from the University of the Arts Helsinki in spring 2015, since then she has worked versatilely in the field of dance. In Maria's rich movement language, you can see and feel echoes of her versatile movement history including figure skating, street dance, show and jazz dance, among others. Release technique and floor work are also part of her movement identity. In addition she has experience of contact improvisation and partnering work. Characteristic features of Maria's work are lightness, playfulness, openness and willingness to experiment. Maria has appeared in the works of Tero Saarinen, Riku Lehtopolku, Petri Kekoni and Päivi Aura in Finland and Europe, among others. Maria is one of the founding members of the /\/\ /\/\ /\/\ collective, which is a dynamic, fresh and bubbly collective of three dance artists. The group produces dancer-oriented works, of which the latest work Game Changer was premiered at ITAK stage in Kuopio on October 5, 2022. In addition to the works of various choreographers and her own artistic projects, Maria has worked as a dancer in short films and music videos. She also teaches contemporary dance to professionals, advanced students and other groups. Maria is the assistant principal at the Vapaa Dance School in Helsinki. |
